Google Makes AI Breast Cancer Detection with 99% Accuracy Rate

Internet giant from the United States (US), Google also seems to establish itself to help detect disease earlier. Reporting from the page Ubergizmo, Monday (10/15/2018), Google is working with researchers at the San Diego Naval Media Center in developing a device Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This AI machine is expected to be able to detect breast cancer so it does not spread. Even trials show, if the AI engine is able to work very well and has 99 percent accuracy.

This AI is based on Inception-v3, which is an open source image recognition learning model. The researchers tested AI against the 2016 Limf Node challenge dataset which contained 399 full slide images of lymph node parts from Radboud University Medical Center and Utrecht University Medical Center.

Although it is still not perfect and sometimes it is wrong to identify certain things. However, this is better than a pathologist who evaluates the same slide. This collaboration between Google and researchers is not the first time AI has been used in medicine or cancer.

Previously, researchers developed AI that could detect skin cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer. AI will not replace doctors in the near future, but it seems to have the ability to see things faster and will no doubt help save human lives.
